Medicare - Types of Medicare Advantage

"Medicare Advantage Plans are another way to get your Medicare Part A and Part B coverage. Medicare Advantage Plans, sometimes called “Part C” or “MA Plans,” are offered by Medicare-approved private companies that must follow rules set by Medicare." - Medicare & You Guide

Medicare Advantage Plans are a type of health insurance plan offered by private insurance companies that contract with Medicare.

These plans provide coverage for hospital care, doctor visits, and other health services that Medicare covers.

There are four main types of Medicare Advantage Plans: Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs), Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs), Private Fee-for-Service Plans (PFFSs), and Special Needs Plans (SNPs).

HMOs offer the most comprehensive coverage with a network of doctors and hospitals, while PPOs offer more flexibility in choosing providers.

PFFSs allow individuals to choose any doctor or hospital that accepts the plan's payment terms, while SNPs are designed for individuals with special health care needs.
